Le Togo ne cache pas son enthousiasme. En marge du 69\u1d49 sommet de la CEDEAO<\/a> en Sierra Leone, le ministre Robert Dussey a r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 le soutien de Lom\u00e9 au m\u00e9gaprojet<\/a> de Gazoduc Africain Atlantique reliant le Nigeria au Maroc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais derri\u00e8re cette position diplomatique, quelles sont les raisons profondes qui poussent le Togo \u00e0 s’engager aussi fermement ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une r\u00e9ponse au d\u00e9senclavement du Sahel, voisin direct du Togo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Premier moteur de cet appui : la dimension sah\u00e9lienne. Le projet est per\u00e7u \u00e0 Lom\u00e9 comme une bouff\u00e9e d’air pour les \u00c9tats du Sahel, dont la fragilit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique et s\u00e9curitaire affecte directement la stabilit\u00e9 r\u00e9gionale. En facilitant l’acc\u00e8s de ces pays enclav\u00e9s aux infrastructures \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques et aux march\u00e9s internationaux, le gazoduc contribuerait \u00e0 r\u00e9duire leur isolement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour le Togo, pays riverain mais frontalier de ces espaces instables, s\u00e9curiser et d\u00e9velopper le Sahel, c’est aussi s\u00e9curiser ses propres fronti\u00e8res et ses perspectives commerciales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un levier pour l’int\u00e9gration r\u00e9gionale ouest-africaine<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le ministre l’a soulign\u00e9 : ce projet \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9passe largement le cadre \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique\u00a0\u00bb. Le Togo y voit un puissant catalyseur d’int\u00e9gration au sein de la CEDEAO. En tissant une art\u00e8re \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique traversant toute l’Afrique de l’Ouest, le gazoduc cr\u00e9e une interd\u00e9pendance positive entre les \u00c9tats membres. Lom\u00e9, qui joue souvent un r\u00f4le de m\u00e9diateur et de facilitateur dans la sous-r\u00e9gion, consid\u00e8re cette interconnexion physique comme un ciment politique et \u00e9conomique essentiel pour consolider l’unit\u00e9 ouest-africaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une porte d’entr\u00e9e vers les march\u00e9s europ\u00e9ens<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Autre atout majeur pour le Togo : le raccordement final du gazoduc au r\u00e9seau europ\u00e9en via le Maroc. Ce corridor \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique place les pays de la CEDEAO, dont le Togo, sur une voie d’exportation strat\u00e9gique vers l’Europe. Pour un pays comme le Togo, dot\u00e9 d’un port en eaux profondes et d’une logistique en d\u00e9veloppement, cette interconnexion avec le vieux continent repr\u00e9sente une opportunit\u00e9 d’attirer des investissements, de diversifier ses partenariats et de s’ins\u00e9rer davantage dans les cha\u00eenes de valeur mondiales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une vision \u00e9conomique partag\u00e9e avec le Maroc<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfin, le soutien togolais s’inscrit dans une reconnaissance de la vision royale port\u00e9e par Mohammed VI. Pour Robert Dussey, cette initiative incarne une coop\u00e9ration Sud-Sud concr\u00e8te, ax\u00e9e sur le d\u00e9veloppement partag\u00e9 plut\u00f4t que sur l’assistance. Le Togo salue une approche qui place la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et la croissance \u00e9conomique au c\u0153ur d’un projet continental, align\u00e9 sur ses propres ambitions de transformation structurelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long de pr\u00e8s de 6 800 kilom\u00e8tres et officialis\u00e9 par la signature de l’Accord intergouvernemental (IGA) \u00e0 Freetown, le gazoduc est donc pour Lom\u00e9 bien plus qu’un pipeline: un outil de souverainet\u00e9 r\u00e9gionale, de stabilit\u00e9 sah\u00e9lienne et d’ouverture internationale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le message est clair : le Togo mise sur cette infrastructure pour b\u00e2tir son avenir \u00e9conomique en phase avec celui de toute l’Afrique de l’Ouest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
